It's been a while since I don't Have my H212+ anymore but yes it can be mounted in either way:
the mounting system on the H212+ imo is its best feature...Now i personally rather the OCZ Vendetta 2 for AMD budget systems as it is cheaper and performs ALOT better but the mounting is terrible compared to the CM!
