If you already have 4GB of ram, as a gamer you'd be better off to save the money on another 4GB and instead put it towards a 2GB HD 6950 opposed to the HD 5850 or HD 6870. That way you have a better performing gaming rig for the money, plus you have a real good chance to unlock the HD 6950 to a HD 6970, which would make your dollars go even further.
If you're hell-bent on the ram, then the extra $10 for the HD 6870 is worth it over the HD 5850.
