Any mass produced item can and will go bad. Its just less likely with some parts (no moving parts) vs others (moving parts == more opportunities for MR Murphy).

All MLC SSDs be they PCIE or 2.5 or 3.5 inch form factor can suffer from bad controller(s) and bad nand.
All SLC SSDS be they PCIE or 2.5 or 3.5 inch form factor can suffer from bad controller(s) and bad nand...its just less likely as they are meant for the server envrio and held to a higher std (thus the higher price).

The revo's are classified as "enthusiast" home user SSDs, not server grade.
