That is true, I bough my paper there this week, in the automotive section,

I picked up one full sheet of 220grit then an assorted pack that ranged from 320-800 grit in 1/3 sheet strips, also a pack of each 1000grit, 1500grit and 2000 grit.

My results are here :

I did not use a ploishing compound just the 2000 grit paper to finish with a touch of water. It is likely to shiny to be effective but it was a pouched chip anyway.
