I am interested in the Redline as well but can't justify the x-tra $$$ for them...

I am also left to wonder.... 2 gig kit @ 8500 vs 4 gig @ a lower speed, which is superior

Comments?
What OS are you going to run? Only a 64bit OS can take full advantage of 4G otherwise you're limited to around 3.5.

I'm currently running 4G with XP, but that's more so that I can offer a good chunk of memory to two instances of VMware for folding. I don't think more than two gig offers much performance boost over just running two sticks.

You might want to chose a motherboard first, and then come back to see what kind of luck folks have had with different memory... some boards play better in the sandbox when paired with specific mem.

Looking forward to seeing you complete this build.... That'll give me 5 months to drag you kicking and screaming over the the "dark side" of liquid cooling..... :)
