If you want to go with Intel then it would push u about $100 over, but here's my build for you.

CASE: Thermaltake WingRS 201 - Toolless 5.25in & 3.5in bays, black interior
PSU: Corsair VX450 450W ATX
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-H55M-S2 mATX LGA1156
CPU: Intel Core i3 540 3.06GHz Dual Core LGA1156
RAM: G Skill F3-10666CL9D-4GBNQ DDR3-1333 4GB 2x2GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA2
VID: GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 460 768MB
OPT: LG GH22LS50 22X DVD Writer
OS: MS Win 7 Home Premium 64Bit OEM

You can decide if you want to get an aftermarket cpu cooler, like the CM Hyper 212+, now or later on when you get your new monitor.

If you go this way, you can later upgrade your cpu to an i5 760 or i7 870 for some extra core muscle

Good luck with your build
