I thought we'd dispensed with that BS years ago, but looks like some people are still beating the horse. Does the Q6700 have four cores? Are they all in the same packaging? If the answers to both of those questions are yes, then it's a "true" quad-core. It doesn't matter if there's one, two, or fifteen different dies. And for all of AMD's bragging about them having a "true" quad-core CPU, the Phenom CPUs still got the pants beaten off them by Intel's competing "fake" quad-core CPUs.

Games still require CPU power, and in most cases, it's not the number of cores that matter but the clock speed and IPC of the CPU.
