the best without a doubt is all the virtual dub and "gordian knot" packaged software took me about a 6 months to learn on my own years ago. but it's based off of george lucas non-linear editor,can't for the life of me remember what it's called but this software package is amazing if you know what your doing. read read read is all i can say
