Probably depends what else you have plugged in? The calculator's just a guide but most show that you usually don't need as high a PSU as you'd first perceive. However, when you factor in other devices/gadgets plugged into the PSU... that might be when you might want to go overkill on a power supply if you're buying new, right? That way, there's plenty of room to add other devices that might take up power. Also, some power supplies are able to take the increased voltages better. Such as Corsair, Power & Cooling and Seasonic?
