I'm in the same boat basically. I have no intentions to upgrade my i7 920, nor do I plan to remove the CPU block until I scrap this whole platform.
I haven't drained it since putting in this radiator (HWLabs SR-1 360), so that's why I'm planning to do a full flush/clean of my loop and then it'll be set for the foreseeable future. As such, when everything's apart, why not try some new stuff too!
I think I'll probably give it a shot anyhow.
