The 1055T is more for "future-proofing" so you can handle newer games that are more heavily core dependent. i5 750 beats an Phenom 965 so it would be more equal or better then the 1055T (haven't seen any comparison charts yet). The AM3 platform could get extra life with an AM3+ cpu, if amd plans to make one based on that socket, but the 1156/1366 platforms are EOL soon.

I would recommend getting a Corsair HX650W modular psu as it gives you more headroom for a gpu upgrade later on and will give you easier cable management over a non-modular psu.

For your motherboard, I would get the Asus M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 for SATA3 and USB3 features and native 6 core support for the 1055T or Asus P7P55D-E Pro for the i5 750.

I would suggest either G Skill F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ DDR3-1600 kit or Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 4GB CL8 DDR3 1600 kit.

The Cooler Master CM 690 II Advanced is really good case for easy cable management and is under $100, same with the HAF 922.
