Standard SataII cables vice SataIII (6Gb / s)
Not something I've come across yet, but circumstances have led me to notice that the Crosshair IV motherboard ships with both standard SataII and SataIII 6 Gb cables. We had a bit of discussion on the difference in the back room, so I figured I'd open up the discussion so that everybody could offer their own personal experiences.
First off.... other than the high-end HDDs which support SataIII speeds, is there any benefit to using the 6 Gb cable(s)?
Second.... somebody suggested that there is a difference between the performance of different brands of Sata II cables.... has anybody else come across this?
