As for a task manager shot...that's not really necessary, it is most important though that when you run these benchies....you switch off whatever you don't need! Try to make XP as lean as possible....tweak the crap out of it...and you'll see millisecs make the difference. |
Why 445 FSBx9? to get a 4.00 GHZ run to do a comparison for you against the E6850. You wanted that, didn't you? I'd try to run 500X8, but I don't think my PC6400 memory will get there.
Task manager - 1tanker wanted to know how tweaked my XP was. The simple answer is not at all. I had AVG, G15 software, VMware services, other stuff running in system tray. I'll kill all those processes before I do my superPi runs tonight. Then you can do a 4Ghz comparison of the e8400 vs e6850.
I'm glad I got 4ghz out of this chip/mem combo, I'd be ecstatic if I got up to 4.2 with a $30 HSF.
