Not a miracle. Just different. Some things Windows is better at and some thing a Mac is better at. I use both. The Windows machines are mostly about gaming. My Macs are mostly used for video editing. And my server is a Hackintosh that runs OSX on one screen and then Parallels virtual machine with Windows 7 on the other screen. I can move back and forth between the OS's just by moving the mouse.
My kids have their own Windows laptops but almost every time my wife leaves her Macbook Pro laying around they are on it like a pack of dogs on a three legged cat
The touch pad is the only one that I have ever used that I prefer to a mouse. Well designed machines.
