Having had to fix BOTH of my monitors for this , I know.
Amber is actually 'standby' on my monitors....when mine went tits up , the went into flashing green....but the problem sounds identical.
I'd say it's the monitor too.
Do you have any soldering skills ? If so you can fix it yourself for about 6 bux.
