I have to return to my networking stuf, cost way less than play with OC and Folding, and it keep busy too.
You could try Ubuntu 9.10. I think it's a stable release now but 9.04 is, too.
I have used NTFS-3g for NTFS compatibility. I haven't had any problems with it although some say do so at your own risk. But, I think it's pretty good. If Linux is used just for a server, I believe it's pretty stable and you get a lot of options to choose from. Heck, you can use a really low resource DE and then you can use an older machine if you wanted.
