Late last year, I read how they scaled down from the original 512 core design. I guess that was true speculation...
I guess we'll have similar weird versions of the card like we did with the GTX 260 Core 216 (still a weird, crippled creation).
It's good to hear the prices will be directly competitive with ATI but I bet you that initially when nVidia was hoping to launch these cards, they were certainly looking to charge at least 50% more. I'm glad that ATI made DX11 cards first - now the competition doesn't allow nVidia to ask for their ridiculous usual prices.
