That is about what i measured just now, if it helps you decide anything there is about 6" of width for space before you'll run into an issue with blocking the plastic mounts that hold the top plastic shroud in place.
Also, mounting the fans on top inside of the case shouldn't be an issue, the only problem you might run into is the front top fan is over top of the cd drom drive bay slighty. And you have to use 140mm fans.
