If you are getting an LCD than 60Hz will do ya. Probably it will be set to that automagically ;) On a CRT you need to consult your manual. Or Google the model number, find it on the manufacturer's website etc... that will tell you what the spec refresh rate is.

I can't find any really big difference in those two Acer models. They both seem to be Acer TN panels as far as I can tell. Maybe it's just a different model # depending on location it was shipped to by Acer. That happens a fair bit.
