If you are concerned about heat try out the Arctic Cooling Accelerro Extreme. I have it on my 4870x2 and it has helped considerably in both cooling and noise control. When that stock cooler spools up it sounds like a hurricane the card still roasts. It's worth looking into for sure but remember it adds about 30mm to overall length and about 20mm to the width.
2 weeks ago the only place I could find stock was Memory Express.
