I know someone who did this with an LGA775. Saved ~2c iirc. I was going to do that with mine but for got in all the excitement of a new MB. After reading the instructions on my tube of AS5 I found out it can take up to 200 hours of usage before seeing it's full potential
I decised a remount wasn't going to be worth it.
