I think that if you're running Vista and are looking forward to playing dx10 games this year, you'd be better off playing the 8800gts 640mb-- the extra ram will really pay off-- the 8600 coming out may have higher clock speed but if you tweak your 8800gta 640 at all (which is easily done), there's not really any difference-- and you can get it for about 430 (and dropping).
