Is your card overclocked at all? deffinetly sounds like a problem initiating drivers, or possibly heat/power troubles. Since your running a corsair 650w im guessing its not power. If its a new card it really shouldnt be heat...

Also are you overclocking your x4 940? are your PCI-E lanes locked at 100, I havent dealt with overclocking those things...

Do you have the right power cables connected to the card? is the card locked into place properly?
