It's not even 1366x720, it's 1366x768, which has nothing to do with either 1280x720 (720p) or 1920x1080 (1080i/1080p) or even 640x480 (480p). Everything would need scaling in some direction, and scaling does tend to cause distortion.

I can't ever figure out why so many mid sized TVs use that stupid 1366x768 resolution other than it happens to be 1024x768 made wider to be 16:9 aspect. makers of cheap consumer goods.
