Default Help me backup my stuff faster!

Hi all!

I just built myself the rig in my sig. I picked a Quad for it's number crunching capabilities, so to speak. Because it's supposedly faster at encoding than a C2D, my expectations were high. I now try to "archive" one of my personal DVD and see if the Quad is faster than my oldie C2D E6420@3.2.
Anyway, it doesn't feel like it. Just for kicks, I tried to Decrypt, then shrink my DVD, and the 4 cores are working pretty much evenly. I doesn't seems like I'm going thru the process faster...

My DVD Rewriter is this one: - Buy LG GH22NS30 Black DVD+RW 22X8X16 DVD-RW 22X6X16 DL 16X/12X 2MB SATA OEM - GH22NS30 BLACK In Canada.

Maybe there is a setting, something I forgot, a check in a box or something, or my apps aren't making good use of the OCed Q9550.
I was expecting faster results.

Alao, my burner burns slow! I choose max speed (16X) and still, SLOW...

Any ideas?
