Got the Q9550 here. Running at 3.8GHz, Xigmatek Dark Knight HSF with Crossbow back plate, MX-2 Thermal paste.
Sure overkill for daily tasks, but for encoding, and running multiple apps at the same time, it's perfect. The Q9400 is probably really good for it's price point however.
I got my Q9550 for 309$ CDN on sale, so can't complaint!
With a little OC on my GTX260 Core 216, I get a 3Dmarks06 score of 19500 (no 3D vantage here, running XP). It tells me that I'll be doing fine for gaming, my system will be alright for a year or two, running games at 1680 X 1050...
