Having been spoiled with a Xeon WS @ work, It's time for one at home....
Tenative config:
Motherboard:
Asus DSGC-DW
Processors: 2x Xeon 5355
Memory: 8GB PC2-5300 (667Mhz FB-DIMM)
PSU: 850W+, 80 Plus Cert, TBD
Graphics: Prob an 8800 but not certian yet... (My apps don't require a Quadro or FireGL). I don't game much so SLI / CF is not required, just something to drive 2 24" displays, and float Vista's boat doing it.
:help: My questions for the above configuration are:
1. Recomendations for aftermarket S771 Coolers for X/E5355 procs? Something quieter than the Intel reference ones... The HP machines I'm used to have large-ish heat pipe towers but they appear rather proprietary...
2. Case recomendations?
