Default Hardware problem or HAL problem?
When I the BIOS is loading the fan goes, when I am in grub the fan goes, when I am in ubuntu the fan goes, when i load windows it stops. Also windows will go into stanby but won't recover from it!. I assume the problem is because on vista my processor was ACPI uniprocessor and in XP it is Advanced configuration and power interface(ACPI)PC. How can I change the hal to uniprocessor? It also might just be a hardware problem.
