Dual boot isn't a big problem, Install each os on its own seperate hdd. A dual boot menu will pop up at the begining of start up then pick which os u want. If u don't get the dual boot menu, go into bios select the other hdd as primary boot save and exit then it should be good to go. As far as free os, XP Pro 64 is a free download 120day free trial or buy the 180day trial from ms $10 for shipping disc is free. When trial is running out, boot from cd, delete partition, reinstall xp pro64, re activate and u'r good for another while.
I've been using win 7 64 and it's alot better than xp that I've noticed, the downside of wi7 beta pre release is it's a little buggy in the internet explorer. Gaming is better on win 7 than xp pro.
