Yes, it's possible, however the steps you must take for Vista/XP are slightly different.
For dualboot XP/ Vista, install XP first, and then Vista from XP desktop. Vista does not use the "boot.ini" file, and installs something else for booting that overrides "boot.ini".
If you happen to install XP AFTER Vista, then you can pop your Vista disk in when first turning on your pc, and running the boot fixer from the Vista DVD.
As mentioned though, it's best to have a seperate drive for each OS.
