You have to push it in about an inch...sometimes more. If it only comes out a touch, then does sound jammed, and the paperclip will likely just bend. You can try taking the front door-panel off..just slide it upwards gently. That may enable you to see in enough, or even to get something stronger in there to sort of "pry"(carefully) it open. I have a feeling that you'll be buying a new drive either way... and at only ~$25... that shouldn't hurt too much. GL
