I am not an expert, but I had trouble getting audio on my board when I first set my system up, until I realized that there was some proprietary software installed with the motherboard that controlled the sound configuation (speaker arrangements, effects, etc), and I had to go into this and activate my speaker by telling it that I had only two front speakers. The icon for it was on the windows desktop toolbar. This probably isn't your problem, but you never know.
