but right now ATI's ahead in the game (no punn intended ) when it comes to gaming and GPUs. A nice one to go with would be the ATI 4870x2. About the same price as the 295 plus and it out-performs it too.
Ummmm...just wondering where you got this info from...?...the Reviews I saw here said otherwise, besides...$700 + for a 4870 x2 when the GTX 295 is available for $500+ or better yet the GTX 280 for $349 - $400.....uh...you better do a little more research their Pard!

EDIT
GTX 280 EVGA E-GEFORCE GTX 280 602MHZ 1024MB 2.214GHZ GDDR3 PCI-E Dual DVI-I HDCP HDTV Out Video Card - DirectCanada
HD 4870X2 NCIX.com - Buy Diamond Radeon HD 4870 X2 Xoc 800MHZ 2GB GDDR5 2XDVI PCI-E Video Card - 4870X2PE52GXOC In Canada. ---Wow!!! Thats actually a $50 USD MIR, your intial cost after Taxes will be $800 +...you gotta be kidding me!!!!
GTX 295 NCIX.com - Buy EVGA E-GEFORCE GTX 295 Plus 576+MHZ 1792MB 1.998+GHZ GDDR3 PCI-E Dual DVI-I HDMI HDCP Video Card - 017-P3-1292-AR In Canada.
The GTX is cheaper by about $100 or so....my mistake, but it does outperform the 4870x2 in most Game Benches...
