Default Is a 600W PSU Enough?

Recently I purchased a Diamond HD4850 512MB (NCIX.com - Buy Diamond Radeon HD 4850 625MHZ 512MB 1.98GHZ GDDR3 PCI-E Dual DVI-I HDCP HDTV Out Video Card - 4850PE3512V In Canada.) and 4GB Mushkin Ascent DDR2-800 4-4-4-12 (NCIX.com - Buy Mushkin Ascent PC2-6400 4GB 2X2GB DDR2-800 CL4-4-4-12 240PIN Dual Channel Memory Kit - 996622 In Canada.)

When I got home and finished installing everything, it worked for a few days on my 450W PSU (I know, I'm kinda pushing it with 450W), but then afterward my computer would start turning off randomly, or restarting, or even going into standby unexpectedly. I swapped out the 4850 for my old 8600GT and lo-and-behold, it worked. The fact remains quite obvious that I need a new PSU.

Now, Because I want more than just enough juice to power my 4850, I was thinking a 600W PSU may be in order, but the manual says that a 750W is minimal! The 4850 has a TDP of ~230W under load, so 750W maybe a bit of overkill. I'm sort of debating between 600W and 750W, because I may want to CF the 4850 down the road a bit.

I'd just like to get some opinions from you guys, since some of you may have had something like this happen to you at one point or another :p
