Well in short yes....the 4870X2 and GTX280 are both monsters and take a pretty healthy CPU to really scream......this brings me back to the E8400 or E8600 both easily OC to 4.0 especially the E8600 which would reduce any issues of bottlenecks.....you could always go Dual Core for now and in a year blow another $250 on a 9550
